Quick, international leader in the production of nautical equipment,
has introduced MC² Seacentric System on the occasion of METS 2022. The new
stabilization system includes
anti-roll fin stabilizer Viator,
interceptor trim tab Intercepta and the well-known
Quick Gyro, anti-roll gyroscopic stabilizer with horizontal axis and natural dissipation, aiming at a
360° stabilization both at anchor and underway.
Viator, Intercepta and Quick Gyro are three
extremely efficient products
in stand-alone mode but,
if installed together, they can revolutionize the way of experiencing the sea.
The stabilization of transverse oscillation (roll) achieved thanks to Quick Gyro anti-roll gyro stabilizer, is therefore supported on one side by the action of Viator fins, on the other side it is completed by the stabilization of longitudinal oscillation (pitch) reached thanks to the action of interceptor trim tab Intercepta. The
integration between these systems leads to
greater stabilization effectiveness and to an optimization of the stabilization system by improving the boat’s steering, consumption and dynamics.
“Quick has been working hard to offer a unique integrated system, able to satisfy all ship owners’ needs –
Michele Marzucco, CEO at Quick, comments.
For the first time in the international marine scenario, a sole industry designs and produces gyro stabilizers, fins, and interceptors which are extremely performing in stand-alone mode but even more performing if combined together on the same boat, optimizing the different dynamic responses of the systems for a revolutionary stabilization concept”.

Viator fins, characterized by
great efficiency and
compact design, are composed by a control unit that analyzes and predicts the dynamics of the boat, in order to modify the stabilization algorithms to adapt them to different situations. The fins are
powered by highly efficient, extremely compact and silent synchronous electric motors. The fin and motor system provides a
shaftless assembly for greater safety in case of impact with floating bodies or rocks.
Viator carbon fins design has been optimized through a
fluid dynamics simulation study to barely impact on boat speed. Thanks to this engineering process, Viator is extremely performing compared to competitors: Viator,
with the same square meters of the fin, is the most powerful on the market.
The range includes five models: VT700 (for boats from 50’ to 65’), VT900 (for boats from 60’ to 80’); VT1200 (for boats from 70’ to 100’), VT1700 (for boats from 85’ to 120’) e VT2000 (for boats from 100’ to 145’).
Intercepta, the
interceptor trim tabs, is a completely
plug&play system. The central unit reads and predicts the dynamics of the boat to coordinate the movement of the trim tab based on the sea and navigation conditions. Intercepta are
powered by a 10-30V motor and engineered with a completely integrated electric actuator and easy installation on every transom.
Besides
eliminating pitch underway, Intercepta by Quick
improve the boat’s stering, consumption and dynamics.
The range includes five models: IN30, IN45, IN60, IN75, IN100 for boats from 20’ to 130’, which can be combined up to a maximum of six units.
The integration of Viator and Intercepta with Quick Gyro leads to
a variety of benefits, thanks to a proprietary software that optimizes the active algorithms coordinating the single systems:
static and dynamic stabilization both at sea and at anchor; a
more efficient stabilization obtained thanks to an algorithm developed to
make the most of the different dynamic responses of the three systems by combining their respective strengths; possibility of
installing smaller systems by adding the torque developed by each device compared to installing stand-alone systems that do not communicate with each other;
better hydrodynamic performance and improved weight distribution.
“
MC² Seacentric System is the first step on a new path for Quick, a path began with Quick Gyro in 2017, with well-defined milestones and great news for the upcoming future. Our goal is ambitious: being key reference not only for stabilization but also for high added value and technologically advanced systems, with an important software factor.”
